The
idea for Angel-Tea first began in 2004. Julie McNulty, a Reiki Master
and Angel Therapy Practitioner, was looking for a way to help her clients
further their healing. Julie counseled many clients who seemed to be
experiencing stressful life changes. Thus, Julie made it her goal to
make such transitions as easy as possible for them. Julie began researching stress-reducing products. She discovered that many healing centers advised similar approaches such as the use of detoxifying products (e.g. green tea), relaxation tapes, or organic sea salt baths. Such treatments could be used as a way to assist clients through the healing process. Julie then decided to test one approach—she began giving her clients packets of salts after their counseling sessions. Next, Julie discovered that certain fragrances, such as lavender and chamomile, had a very calming effect. She then added these herbs to the salts. Immediately, Julie received positive responses from her clients. Encouraged by her client findings, Julie wanted to take the product to another level. While she could not pinpoint it exactly, she felt that the salts were missing something. At this point, Julie consulted with her good friend, Rockie Arambula, about the product. Rockie Arambula, an Angel Therapy Practitioner, Reiki Master, and Metaphysical store owner (MoonFyre Metaphysical), has an extensive background in healing modalities. One day while working at MoonFyre, Rockie suggested that Julie add crystal therapy to the product. Rockie advised that adding "charged" crystal stones to the bath salts would add their unique healing energies to the mixture of herbs and Dead Sea salts. Rockie also encouraged Julie to package the salts in a small mesh bag. The bag offered clients the opportunity to keep the ingredients self-contained. In addition, clients could continue to enjoy the healing benefits of the dried-out herbs and charged crystal beyond the bathtub. Thus, the concept for Angel-Tea was born. Later, the women approached their friend Crystal Sanchez, one of Julie's clients and Reiki Practitioner, about productizing Angel Teas. Crystal worked in Corporate America, but was interested in pursuing healing work. She also worked with Angels and had personally experienced the healing nature of one of Julie's first bath salt creations. Crystal encouraged the women to consider adding variety to their bath salts. She suggested they utilize different herbs with specific healing properties similar to the crystals. Each combination of Finally,
because all three women were Reiki practitioners, they understood the loving,
healing power of Reiki. They knew that adding this type of energy to their products
would offer their clients unmatched powerful healing benefits.
